Top 10 for 2012: Position scarcity matters

Surely the most critical adjustment to the top of the fantasy baseball rankings in the past few months had nothing to do with trades or free agent signings. It's about a top player allegedly testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.

Like the Milwaukee Brewers and people owning stud outfielder Ryan Braun in a keeper league, I'm hoping his pending 50-game suspension is reversed, but I wouldn't hold out realistic hope. Braun went from potentially the top pick in drafts to, well, that's the big question. More on this in future blog entries, but the National League version of Josh Hamilton -- for different reasons --- certainly can't be considered first-round material anymore.
