Top 10 third-base prospects
Lots of potential fantasy stars looming at the hot corner
We've now reached third base in our top 10 fantasy prospect list, and though it doesn't have the glamour of shortstop or center field, it might be the most loaded position in all of baseball in terms of young talent.
"It's as good as it's been in a long time," an NL Central scout said. "I can't remember the last time when I saw this many young guys [at third] who you genuinely fear coming up to the plate. And then you look at what's going on down on the farm, there's some players down there who look like they're going to make All-Star Games. You never use the term 'can't-miss' because there's no such thing, but when you look at the top two or three prospects there, it's tough to see those guys not becoming at least quality regulars."
There's definitely some quantity to the quality at the position as well. Here's a look at the top 10 third basemen who have the offensive skills to become among the best at the position in the next few years.
If you are not familiar with the 20-80 scouting report, here's a guide as to what the grades mean.
