Singleton can be top 1B option now
Latest call-up ready to add more pop to Astros, fantasy lineups
After struggling in his half season at Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2013, it would be fair to say that there were some questions about Jon Singleton's offensive upside for the first time since he was traded to the Houston Astros in 2011 in the Hunter Pence deal.
It wouldn't be fair to say that those questions have been answered based on a third of a season, but Singleton was outstanding for the Redhawks this season. He posted a .941 OPS with 14 homers and his offensive prowess has rewarded him not only with a call-up to the Astros, but a five-year, $10 million contract.
