Laughter In The Dark: Good Matchups
New York Yankees: 4 @TB. This week's projections will necessarily be a little light on specific pitching matchups, since the All-Star break allows managers to reconfigure their rotations. One assumes the Yanks will see some combination of Scott Kazmir and James Shields in this four-game set, but taken as a whole, the Rays' staff continues to struggle mightily. The gang didn't exactly cover themselves in glory in Boston last week, and getting your Yankees hitters for four games instead of three is a nice little bonus.
Los Angeles Angels: 3 @TEX. And if you're not picking on the Rays, you might as well bully the Rangers, who'll end the first half with baseball's second-worst collective ERA. Summer's officially here, the temperatures are balmy, so baseballs will fly out of Rangers Ballpark. It's only three games, but in these circumstances, three should be enough.
