Laughter In The Dark: Good Matchups
Chicago Cubs: 3 @TEX; 3 @CHW. Can the Cubbies end their century of frustration this year? Mm, no. Can they score a bunch of runs this week? Aye. These two pitching staffs have been brutal the past 30 days; Texas is the worst staff in the AL over that span, with a 5.74 ERA, 1.59 WHIP, .456 opponents' slugging and .364 opponents' batting average. The White Sox aren't far behind: 5.36, 1.57, .457 and .365. Presumably, the trio of Robinson Tejeda, Kameron Loe and Vicente Padilla has no one's Windy City knees knocking, and those Sox/Cubs games are often scorefests.
Cleveland Indians: 3 vs. PHI; 3 @WAS. The Tribe has to deal with the nastiness that is Cole Hamels on Monday, but things get crazy-good thereafter. Kyle Kendrick and Jon Lieber of the Phillies follow, then come the immortal Levale Speigner, Micah Bowie and Matt Chico. No, RFK isn't tons of fun to hit dingers in, but expect the first-place Indians to keep mashing.
