Okay, granted, that time was two weeks ago.

Since then, King Felix has merely turned in the best outing of his pro career, a one-hit, two-walk shutout of the mighty Red Sox on a cold night in Boston. I'd say pitching on eight days' rest agrees with the lad; the Mariners are going to have to arrange five-day snow vacations more often. Meanwhile, Haren found himself mercilessly squeezed by umpire Ed Rapuano this past Friday against the Yankees, and wound up walking an uncharacteristic four hitters (he walked four or more exactly thrice in 34 starts last year). For the first half of April, it's been no contest: Hernandez is 2-0 has given up zero runs, four hits and four walks in 17 innings, while Haren is 0-1 with eight walks and only nine strikeouts in his three starts (though his ERA is 2.00, and his WHIP is 1.22). He's been decent, but not Felix-esque.
