Laughter In The Dark: Good Matchups
Chicago Cubs: MIL-3 (8/28-30); HOU-3 (8/31-9/2). Even without Alfonso Soriano in the lineup, the Cubs are getting things done at home, winning 18 of their last 29 games there while averaging 5.59 runs per game. Included in that is a two-of-three performance against the Brewers June 29-July 1 (15 total runs) and a three-game sweep of the Astros July 13-15 (24), and the pitchers they'll battle this week simply aren't as good as the ones they faced back then. The Brewers' Jeff Suppan (Tuesday's starter) is 3-8 with a 5.68 ERA in 14 road starts this season, while the Astros' Wandy Rodriguez (Saturday's) is 1-9 with a 7.80 ERA in 12 road starts. Plus, the Cubs draw an inexperienced Astros spot starter on Friday, either Juan Gutierrez or Troy Patton.
