Strength of Schedule: Clear Sailing for A's

You can poke around the Internet and find several articles about how to set your lineup for the upcoming week. That's all fine and dandy, but we're going to focus on something even more useful -- patterns that present themselves over the course of several weeks. If you're aware of these patterns, the information can help you in deciding about trades, free-agent pickups and, of course, lineups. Now, let's get down to some real schedule analysis.

April & May

I like to examine the next four weeks on the schedule, so today we'll specifically look at the games starting Monday, April 23, and ending Sunday, May 20. The lists of teams will be followed by the number of hard or easy series in parentheses. Let's take a look at the teams with the best and worst overall schedules for this time period:
