Playing With Numbers: The power of patience
What's wrong with Derek Jeter? That's a question I heard a lot as April turned into May and the Yankee veteran's home run total remained a goose egg. Certainly, Jeter never will be confused with Ruth, Mantle or Maris in the power department, but he always has been good for double-digit home runs throughout his career. Jeter has hit a pair of home runs in the past two weeks to make his projected line look a lot better, but he's still not exactly tearing the cover off the ball.
