He's On Fire!

Mike Stanton, OF, FLA (High-A Jupiter)
Sunday's stats: 5-for-5, 2B, HR, 4 RBIs
After bursting onto the scene with 39 home runs last year as a 19-year-old in his full-season debut, Stanton had just one extra-base hit in his first seven Florida State League games, but Sunday's performance was just gravy on a weekend that also saw home runs off his powerful bat on Friday and Saturday.

Well-Oiled Hitting Machine

Adrian Cardenas, 2B, OAK (Double-A Midland)
Sunday's stats: 3-for-4, 3B
A top-notch hitting prospect who came over from Philadelphia in last summer's Joe Blanton deal, Cardenas went 8-for-12 this weekend, including two doubles, a triple and a home run. He raised his early-season average to .405, and one scout calls him "the kind of player who seems like he could hit .300 in his sleep."
