Out of the Box: Let's Deal!
July 31 might serve as one of the more exciting times to fantasy baseball owners, but it can be equally troubling, too. At no point in the season, other than spring training and maybe April/early May, can player value change so dramatically, and that change isn't always a positive thing.
Who doesn't fear a closer being traded to a team where he'd merely set up for a better finisher? Or how about that solid starter being yanked out of his spacious ballpark and plopped in a bandbox in a hitting-rich division? Better yet, what about the hitter who leaves the bandbox for cavernous confines like Petco's or Safeco's?
