Early in the season, I created PCP, shorthand for "patience, control, power," a quick and dirty way to search for batting average sleepers. If you want to read the original piece, click here.

In short, I cribbed some of Ron Shandler's research into contact rates and walk-strikeout ratios and added a powerful twist: isolated power.

By multiplying BB-K ratio, contact rate (1-[strikeouts/at-bats]) and isolated power, I came up with a group of guys who consistently hit for a much higher average than the rest of the baseball world. That means these guys are either hitting for a sustainable average right now, or are excellent candidates to do so going forward.
