Maholm run coming to an end?

Did you know that Paul Maholm hasn't given up a home run in his past 50 innings? Something's got to give Tuesday night when he faces the Milwaukee Brewers at their home field. No National League team has hit more home runs than the Brew Crew this season. For Maholm (and all pitchers, really), the key to avoiding home runs has been keeping pitches down in the zone. The Pirate has located 38 percent of his pitches below the strike zone in 2009. If he continues to work in that area, don't expect Prince Fielder to golf one out. Dating back to the beginning of the 2008 season, Fielder is 4-for-92 on pitches below the strike zone that end an at-bat, with only one home run. But if Maholm loses his command, there's a good chance his streak will come to an end at Miller Park.
