If You're Hardcore: Potential Padres starting options

The Padres have the worst record in baseball because of a slumping offense that's scored as many runs as the woeful Giants, but even with their lousy record, a pitcher that can log half his innings in Petco Park is always worth a closer look. Jake Peavy, Greg Maddux, Chris Young and Randy Wolf comprise a fairly stable core of the club's rotation, but the fifth starter's role is up for grabs right now. Since a skilled Petco pitcher getting the ball every five days would be a definite deep-league commodity, it's time to examine the past, present and future of the fifth spot in the Padres' rotation.
