As the minor league season winds down each year, I'm generally doing a juggling act, trying to be in different places and different leagues to see new draft picks making their pro debuts, or just trying to catch up to certain teams or players I need to see before the season ends. A lot of it is about volume, and seeing as many different players as I can.
So when I see a certain starting pitcher, and then head out to watch a completely different league five days later and just happen to catch that same starting pitcher again, you would think I'd be a little disappointed I wasn't seeing someone new. Not this time.
I don't forget the people out there playing in long-term keeper or dynasty leagues when writing about the minors. That's one of the reasons that every so often I will talk about players I see in rookie league play, even though their major league impact is a few years away. A big part of being a successful fantasy player is staying ahead of the curve and being aware of potential impact players before the other owners in your league are.
