One of the reasons I advocate a draft strategy that is heavy on hitting is that you can always find pitching in the free-agent pool during the season.

I wrote in my Clipboard last week about Ubaldo Jimenez and John Lannan getting it done for mixed leaguers, and these next two players are also cases in point.

Signed as a 16-year-old out of Venezuela back in 1998 by the Montreal Expos, and once included in a deal involving Alfonso Soriano, the third organization has been the charm for right-hander Armando Galarraga. The struggles of Dontrelle Willis created an opportunity for Galarraga to join the rotation early this season, and he hasn't looked back. His latest gem was allowing just four baserunners and one run in seven innings on Sunday, picking up a no-decision when his bullpen blew a lead.
