For all the abuse Bowden takes in the world of baseball commentary (and it's a lot), the Washington Nationals' general manager made quite a find when he hitched his wagon to Da Meat Hook.
Signing Dmitri Young on the cheap doesn't make up for failing to trade or sign Alfonso Soriano at the end of '06, or investing in Cristian Guzman, Vinny Castilla and Esteban Loaiza, or saddling his franchise circa 2007 with a starting rotation less recognizable than the first Darren on "Bewitched." But between fleecing his former organization for Austin Kearns and Felipe Lopez and giving Young another shot, Bowden's belt has at least a couple recent notches on it.
