Cutter helps Buckner's effectiveness
Billy Buckner was at a crossroads in his career in late June.
The Diamondbacks righty had just gotten bombed for eight runs in 1 2/3 innings in his most recent start in the big leagues and had been sent back to Triple-A. He had toyed around with a cutter for the first time in bullpen sessions and talked to some of the other D-backs hurlers about it, but "never had enough confidence to use it in a game."
