Blanks finishing strong after slow start

Quiet production from rookies sometimes can be the thing that puts you over the top down the stretch, especially in single-league formats.

I'm not talking about just late-season call-ups, either. The quiet production can come in the form of a player who has seen substantial big league time this year but seemingly is starting to figure things out and adjust to major league pitching as the season progresses. The Rockies' Dexter Fowler (.330 batting average and .440 on-base percentage since the break) is just one example.

Another example is the Padres' Kyle Blanks, who is athletic despite his 6-foot-6, 285-pound frame. Athletic enough to handle a transition to left field passably, and even athletic enough to register an inside-the-park homer recently.
