Strasburg to appear at AFL

Many top prospects, first-round draft picks on Arizona Fall League rosters

The Arizona Fall League is known as the "graduate school" for some of the game's top prospects. Names like Tommy Hanson, Gordon Beckham and Andrew Bailey put the finishing touches on their games there last year prior to making an impact at the big league level this season.

To give you an idea of the prospects that head to the desert each offseason, 37 of the participants at the past All-Star Game were AFL alumni, and 18 players who played in the AFL have gone on to win Rookie of the Year awards.

Based on the preliminary rosters for the 2009 season released on Tuesday, there will be plenty of potential star power again in the Valley of the Sun.
