Tristan H. Cockcroft: Good morning everyone! Let's get right to your fantasy baseball questions... scott : the aging slugger vs. the up and comer? the debate that im sure a lot of have, so who makes a better keeper? dye @ $13 or alex gordon @ $6? Tristan H. Cockcroft: In the long haul, Alex Gordon's going to be the better keeper, assuming that's the kind of league in which you can keep him forever for, say, a $5 increase each year. But for 2007, I have to think Jermaine Dye's the safer keeper. He's a fair price, a 30-homer, 100-RBI man, and his job and middle-of-the-lineup spot are secure. Gordon, he has to win his job this spring. Could change by March 31, but today, I say Dye's the better bet.
