- Tristan H. Cockcroft, Fantasy
Tristan H. Cockcroft: Good morning everyone! Only two weeks to pitchers and catchers, so let's get to those fantasy baseball questions of yours...
Greg Youngstown OH: Can you select Santana #1 overall without getting laughed out of the room? If not, When is it a good time to start loading up on pitchers?
Tristan H. Cockcroft: Sure can. Johan Santana holds such an advantage over his pitching brethren that a case can absolutely be made for him at No. 1 overall. I'm picking Albert Pujols, myself, but I've seen Santana go first overall already, and I didn't laugh. I just prefer to build around hitting, big drop-off from Johan to Chris Carpenter or not. Personally, I take hitters for a good four or five rounds before taking a pitcher, and very often, it's a closer. And then, I usually hold a two-thirds to one-third hitter-to-pitcher ratio through much of the draft.
