Josh, Washington, D.C. Is Pedro Martinez a keeper for next year?

Tristan: I think so. .I doubt that at 35 years old, which Martinez will turn in October, that he'll be a Cy Young candidate. Still, there might yet be one more 180-strikeout, low-3.00-ERA season left in him. The Mets are playing it smart with his calf injury, knowing they don't have to rush him back with such a big lead in the National League East, and that only can help preserve his arm for 2007. I wouldn't keep Martinez in a three-player keeper league, but in leagues that allow five or more players per team, he's well worth it. He'll still be on one of the game's best teams and working in one of the majors' best pitchers' parks.
