ATLANTA BRAVES: We've probably seen the last of John Smoltz as a major league closer, and if any current Braves starter gets shifted into the closer's role to fill the void, the likely candidate would be Jorge Sosa, who has relief experience and broke out with a 2.55 ERA a year ago. Right now, the team is denying that rumor, meaning Sosa stays in the rotation and the closer battle boils down to Chris Reitsma, Blaine Boyer and rookie Joey Devine. But don't rule out a trade; the Braves have been repeatedly linked to trade rumors with the Devil Rays for Danys Baez.
