FLB: Rookie Report
Rickie Weeks, 2B, Brewers: He has played every one of the Brewers' games since being promoted June 11, and hasn't seemed overmatched so far. Project Weeks' numbers to a full 162-game season and he'd have 29 homers, 87 RBI, 23 stolen bases, 87 runs scored and 75 walks -- excellent numbers for a second baseman. Of course, he has averaged one strikeout per 3.53 at-bats, a rate he'll need to cut down on to sustain that kind of pace. Weeks does have the ability to stick near those numbers, even if he's a tad streaky at times.
Garrett Atkins, 3B, Rockies: He's been an All-Star at Coors Field (.384 AVG, 5 HR, 28 RBI, 1.011 OPS) and a nobody on the road (.215-2-10, .582), which amounts to a decent but unspectacular player overall. Atkins carries a .306 batting average into the second half, thanks to Colorado playing 47 of its first 87 games at home. Of course, that means he'll get just 34 of his final 75 games at Coors, meaning Atkins' numbers will likely take a slight hit. In weekly leagues, he's a worthy option in Weeks 17, 19, 20 and 25 at Coors, but avoid him in Weeks 15, 16, 18, 21, 24 and 26, when he's on the road.
