A daily glance inside the numbers from the world of sports:
• The Cardinals are the ninth team in major league history to never trail in a postseason series. Since 1999, the only other team to do that was the Red Sox against the Cardinals in the 2004 World Series. The Cardinals had never previously won a postseason series in that manner. • Reggie Sanders had 10 RBI in the NLDS, the most by a player in a three-game postseason series. The only other player to play at least three games and average at least three RBI per game in a postseason series of any length was Graig Nettles, who drove in nine runs in the Yankees' three-game sweep of the Athletics in the 1981 ALCS.
