• The White Sox swept the Red Sox for their first postseason series victory since winning the 1917 World Series over the New York Giants. Chicago's span of 87 years without a postseason series win was nearly twice as long as the new longest current drought -- 45 years by the Texas Rangers, whose franchise history dates to the 1961 as the expansion Washington Senators.
