David Beckham is at the top of his game, playing for Manchester United in a Champions League match against Deportivo La Coruna, when Argentine defender Aldo Duscher flies in with a hard tackle and fractures one of Becks' world-famous feet. Two months later, the star limps into the World Cup, and Duscher becomes a cult hero in his Brit-bashing home nation.
