Golf

Tiger Woods takes a two-stroke lead into the final round of the Ford Championship at Doral. Woods has won all 19 PGA Tour events in which he has led by more than one stroke going into the final round. Additionally, he has won 26 consecutive events when he has led outright going to the final round since failing in his first event as the leader after three rounds, the 1996 Quad City Classic.

NBA

Kobe Bryant scored 40 points in the Lakers' 105-94 win over the Pistons. It marked the third time this season that an opponent had reached 40 points against Detroit, but it was the first of those performances that was coupled with a victory.

Earlier this season against Detroit, Tracy McGrady scored 43 points in a Houston loss and Michael Redd scored 41 in a Milwaukee loss.
