A daily glance inside the numbers from the world of sports:
• Steve Francis was traded from Orlando to New York on Wednesday, only two years removed from the last of three straight All-Star appearances for the Rockets (2001-02 through 2003-04). Over the past six seasons, the Knicks acquired four other players whose credentials included at least three selections as an NBA All-Star. None of those players appeared in as many as 100 games for New York: Glen Rice (75 games with the Knicks), Dikembe Mutombo (65), Anfernee Hardaway (83) and Vin Baker (41).
