A daily glance inside the numbers from the world of sports:

NBA
• The Spurs needed overtime to beat Toronto after leading by 10 points with 7:52 remaining in regulation. San Antonio hasn't lost a game in which it had a double-digit lead during the fourth period since Dec. 9, 2004, at Houston. Less than a month earlier, the Spurs blew a 19-point fourth-quarter lead in a four-point loss at Toronto (Nov. 21, 2004). The Spurs regained a share of first place in the Southwest Division, moving into a tie with the idle Mavericks. During the head-coaching tenure of Gregg Popovich (since Dec. 10, 1996), only Miami has spent more days on top of its division's standings than San Antonio.
