NFL

Bill Cowher won his first championship in his 14th season as a head coach. Five other coaches in the NFL, NBA, NHL and Major League Baseball waited as many as 14 seasons for their first title.

Larry Brown waited 21 seasons for his first NBA title (with the Pistons in 2004); Joe Torre won his first World Series in his 15th season (with the 1996 Yankees); Leo Durocher also won his first World Series in his 15th season (with the 1954 New York Giants); Bobby Cox won his first Series in his 14th season (with the 1995 Braves); and Art Ross won his first Stanley Cup in his 14th season (with the 1939 Bruins).
