Seahawks' Forsett on verge of emerging

The more I see Justin Forsett of the Seattle Seahawks play, the more he reminds me of Matt Forte.

Here you might say, "great, another big fantasy disappointment in the making," but that's not it at all. Running backs who can catch passes are valuable, and while few can be as versatile as Steven Jackson, or Forte from 2008, yards are yards, no matter how you get them. The way Forsett has been targeted by Matt Hasselbeck the past few weeks, and with the opportunity he's going to get moving forward, we have to like him.

In fact, I see similarities between Forsett, who along with Louis Rankin will replace Julius Jones as the starter against the Minnesota Vikings this week, and the Chicago Bears' Forte, who has also done his best work as a receiver out of the backfield. Most people didn't think Forte could emerge last season as a traditional running back, due to his small stature. He did. Yes, Forte hasn't been worth the top-five pick many spent on him in his sophomore season, but he's still among the running back leaders in targets, and he's still productive.
