With Brown out, Williams' stock moves slightly

The news that Ronnie Brown has been placed on injured reserve with a season-ending foot injury will have a significant impact in fantasy football. Yep, this stinks. It stinks on ice. Brown is the No. 9 running back for the season in fantasy football, on pace for more than 1,110 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, and now you're going to have to do a very painful thing … let him go. He can't help you anymore.

For more, the first reaction is to presume Ricky Williams becomes even more valuable now, and, in theory, he does. He's guaranteed more touches than at any time this season; so long as he remains healthy, he should be a force. But this guy is already owned in 98 percent of ESPN standard leagues, and he was already a force, ranking 13th among running backs in fantasy points. Do I really like him much better now? How much better can things get? Brown was at 118 fantasy points, Williams 109. Even if Williams becomes Brown, is he a top-10 running back for certain?
