Titans defense torturing fantasy owners

Look, once upon a time I was like you. I would draft a defense in fantasy football, scoff at its importance and just leave it alone all season, no matter how average it performed. Even now I don't think a fantasy defense can help you a ton … but man, it sure can hurt you. I'm talking to you, those who not only drafted the Tennessee Titans defense but continue to activate it. Take a few minutes please -- I will wait -- to see what defenses are available on free agency. You don't like the Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals or Atlanta Falcons. I get it. I don't love those defenses either. But just look at the Titans. Any defense -- even the Detroit Lions and St. Louis Rams -- looks better at this point. Pick up the Seahawks, Texans, Cardinals or Falcons. Fast!

On Sunday, Tom Brady threw six touchdowns against this injury-riddled defense, five of them before halftime. Randy Moss was ridiculously open. He would run five yards off the line of scrimmage and wave to Brady, "I'm open!" And he was. All day. Well, all half the day, until it was 52-zip and it was piling on. It apparently wasn't piling on at 38-zip. The Titans, or the current version of what was a proud and productive defense last season, went on to allow 59 points. It might still be allowing points on Monday for all we know.
