Aaron Rodgers versus Brett Favre? On Monday night, the old man got the victory and played very well in doing so. It was a terrific performance, good for No. 2 among all quarterbacks in Week 4. However, Rodgers is the quarterback fantasy owners should want going forward. This is fairly obvious, right?
Well, how about this bombshell: I would take Rodgers over every other quarterback in fantasy football this season.
While it was hard not to be impressed with Favre's performance Monday, just days before his 40th birthday, Rodgers didn't exactly hurt his fantasy owners, delivering a career-best 384 passing yards and two touchdown passes. He accomplished this despite dealing with a furious Minnesota Vikings pass rush, one that sacked him eight times, forced a safety and had him pressured and on the run all night. Maybe Rodgers hung on to the ball too long at times, but from a fantasy aspect, that's OK because one interception against him is better than three or four. Everyone's talking about Favre on Tuesday, and hey, good for him in getting his "revenge" or whatever, but I think it's sliding beneath the radar just how good Rodgers is.
