Here we go again!

Like many of you, I watched in horror as Matt Schaub sprained his ankle Monday night, and of course the first thing I think of is how this affects his fantasy value. Call it one of the perils of the trade, if you will. We fantasy sports writers are supposed to think this way, not rush to adjust the Houston Texans' win total down a spot or two. We have Schaub projected for 26 touchdowns, certainly an optimistic total based on his durability (or lack thereof). I loved that projection … and I still do.

Even before Monday night, when Schaub limped away and scared those who have trusted him as their top quarterback -- and many have, since he's going 10th at the position in ESPN average live drafts -- most people probably looked at 26 touchdowns as a really aggressive projection. Schaub would have reached 4,000 passing yards last season if he played all the games, and he threw 15 touchdown passes. He also had five games with multiple passing scores. He's clearly talented, and he has major weapons at his disposal. The situation is going to work out.
