Longoria up, but Fields, Headley still wait

One third base prospect came up this past weekend, batted sixth in his debut and the fantasy world is all crazy about his Rookie of the Year potential. I agree that Evan Longoria is going to be a solid player, without delay, and should be owned in most leagues.

Then there are some other third base prospects that still haven't received word on their promotions, and that is what I'm thinking about this fine Monday. One of them is really past that prospect status at this point, but still isn't in the majors. You know who it is. On one of my important teams, I drafted both Josh Fields and Chase Headley, desperate for power. The team still is, by the way, short on power since these fellas are in the minors, and really not seemingly close to promotion.

Should we really blame Joe Crede and Scott Hairston for this, while thanking Tampa Bay's Willy Aybar for going on the disabled list? As always, it's rarely that cut and dried, but certainly timing plays a critical role in how really important decisions get made at the major league level, and they clearly affect fantasy baseball.
