Rauch the story from Nats-Braves

Maybe it's nothing. Maybe Chad Cordero will be just fine, after all, throw 70 good innings and save 35 games this season. Who knows. The fact that he warmed up but didn't pitch due to shoulder stiffness, while Jon Rauch actually came in to protect a ninth-inning lead in Sunday night's U.S. opener could mean little in the big picture. It could be like what we thought about J.J. Putz a year ago, when he was having some minor elbow pain and didn't register his first save until three weeks into the season. How did it end up? He was fantasy's best closer.

Or, of course, Rauch could be this year's Jeremy Accardo. Now think about that for a minute while you check out Rauch's name on your free-agent wire, but don't do anything about it.

For the record, I really enjoyed watching that Braves-Nationals Sunday night game. A few hours earlier, I drove by the new stadium, and it's odd, not exactly in the same neighborhood as say, Wrigley Field or Fenway Park. Really nice stadium from the outside, though. I can't wait to go to a game there soon. This being a fantasy blog, I have some thoughts on the first NL game of the season, so I will share them.
