I understand how the Grizzlies didn't want Damon Stoudamire around anymore, in part because he's not a great player, but also because he was taking minutes from young kids like Mike Conley and Kyle Lowry. Still, doesn't this seem wrong? I mean, Stoudamire gets to be a bad apple in Memphis, with one of the worst teams in the league, and days later he's on his way to San Antonio, one of the league's model franchises and a perennial contender? Hey, good for Mighty Mouse. Really, no matter where he plays next, he wins. All the best. However, this eerily reminds me of the Chris Webber situation in Philly about a year ago. The old guy pouts, plays poorly, avoids practice, is made inactive, makes way too much money and gets what he wants, which is a dubious ticket to a playoff team. Even though I am a 76ers fan, I couldn't enjoy watching Webber play. He wasn't that good, for starters, but he was a malcontent bringing the rest of the team down. He went to Detroit and got to the postseason, though he wasn't much of a factor there. Now he's finding work again! Webber and Don Nelson ... sure, that'll work. Riiiiiight!
