Honestly, I see both sides of the argument for whether or not fantasy football leagues should play or finish their championship matchups in Week 17. In one sense, I like the fact you have to work for your title by picking up Dominic Rhodes or Luke McCown, if they are better options than what you've got. Even if you did play your championship in Week 16, or earlier, it's hardly guaranteed the fantasy teams with the stars won. Tom Brady had an "off" week, Willie Parker broke his leg, stuff happens. If the NFL can play all 17 weeks, why can't you?
Then again, I see no issue with ending the season a little earlier as well. This season, more than any other I can ever remember, it's not just a few playoff-bound teams sitting their key players in Week 17, it seems like there are more players sitting than those who aren't. Most games this week mean little in the big picture. Sure, it's a tad annoying to win double-digit fantasy games with Tony Romo as your quarterback, then in the biggest game have to choose between Jim Sorgi and Brad Johnson for the final, but did you think this was going to be a cakewalk?
