What is a fantasy football sleeper, anyway? We always talk about this guy or that guy being someone we like as a sleeper or a bust, but it's gotta be clarified, really. Is LaDainian Tomlinson a sleeper? Well, he's the No. 1 overall pick, so how could he be? You know all about him. But then again, if he's so much better than you expected, there's special value there.
To me, it's all about the value of the players, no matter the fantasy sport. Someone could be a sleeper in Round 1 still, or a productive player from the round could end up a bust. It's about what you pay for those stats, how you acquired the player, the relative value of who you got in a draft or a trade versus who else you could have owned.
So what is a sleeper, and what is a bust? These words have been abused over the years, frankly, and they're tough to define. How about I just tell you who I like better than others, and who I think will be worse than how others perceive them? That's essentially what sleepers and busts are to me, dependent on their value.
