Verlander, other 10-K efforts

The big story in fantasy baseball is obviously the home run and stolen base by Pittsburgh's Jose Bautista, so let's start ... oh yeah, there was another no-hitter. OK, so maybe Justin Verlander trumps that.

Verlander was terrific, of course, as tossing a no-hitter takes not only terrific stuff but also the ability to control where the hitters are hitting the ball, an opposing offense that clearly has holes, great defense and luck. Verlander had it all. The Brewers are middle of the pack when it comes to hitting and scoring runs; their best June hitter (Ryan Braun) was not in the lineup Tuesday; and the shortstop was Neifi Perez, not defenseless Carlos Guillen, which certainly helped.
