Scouts Inc. is in Southern California this weekend to check out the NFL prospects playing in the Arizona State-UCLA game, and the matchup we'll be keeping the closest eye on is between Sun Devils WR
Chris McGaha and Bruins CB
Alterraun Verner.
McGaha is a savvy veteran but he lacks explosiveness out of his cuts and the quick-twitch athletic ability to separate from coverage, so Verner should be able to use his instincts, athleticism and change-of-direction skills to stay with McGaha on intermediate routes.
Verner also has the top-end speed to open his hips and stay in McGaha's pocket on vertical routes, but expect intense competition when the ball is in the air and look for McGaha to possibly give Verner problems after the catch.
