Even though the Chargers might have temporarily lost two starting offensive linemen to injury, their organization felt as though it got a lucky break this week.
Before the season, the Chargers cut veteran
Kynan Forney to make way for rookie
Louis Vasquez at right guard. Forney ended up signing with Jacksonville, which released
Dennis Norman at the end of training camp to make room. On Thursday, the Chargers signed Norman.
The Chargers feel as though they ended up with the better end of the swap. Norman can help out at guard or center. Forney was mainly a guard. With center
Nick Hardwick and Vasquez questionable because of injuries suffered Monday night against the Raiders, Norman fits at either position as a backup to center
Scott Mruczkowski and guard
Brandyn Dombrowski.
