The allure of playing in the Big East and at Madison Square Garden was too much for
Ronald Roberts (Jersey City, N.J./Saint Peter's) to resist, which is why the 6-foot-7 forward signed with St. John's on Wednesday night.
Roberts selected the Red Storm over Saint Joseph's -- the only two schools where he took official visits. He also had offers from Indiana, Temple, Providence, Seton Hall and Penn State.
"The coaches envision me as a combination forward," Roberts said. "I can play the 3 of 4, but mostly I love getting up and down the floor. St. John's loves to push it; it's a good fit for me."
