ADEL, Ga.-- Class of 2011 ESPNU150 Watch List linebacker
Shannon Brown (Adel, Ga./Cook County) holds scholarship offers from a number of programs and is getting interest from plenty of others.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder said on Monday at his school that Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, East Carolina and others have stepped in with a scholarship offer for him.
Alabama, Florida State and Georgia Tech also are showing interest. The Crimson Tide is potentially looking at him for its "Jack" linebacker position, which was manned this season by All-SEC candidate Dont'a Hightower before he suffered a season-ending injury.
According to Brown and Cook head coach Mac Thompson, Brown has slimmed down from 240 pounds to his current playing weight of 225 this season. He has more than 50 tackles in six games.
