Big weekend for Penn State

There is no doubt where the big game in the Big Ten is this weekend as Ohio State travels to Penn State for a battle to stay in the race for the Big Ten championship. However, more than a game will be on the line on Saturday in State College. Joe Paterno and his staff will welcome in an outstanding group of prospects in what will be an important recruiting weekend for Penn State's 2010, 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes.

Two of the top three 2010 prospects the Nittany Lions are still recruiting -- running back Marcus Lattimore (Duncan, S.C./Byrnes) and defensive lineman Michael Thornton (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson) -- are expected to make official visits to Penn State this weekend.

Lattimore is the No. 16 prospect in the latest ESPNU 150 and the No. 2 running back. He has narrowed his choices down to Penn State, Auburn, South Carolina, North Carolina, Oregon, Georgia and Florida State.
