Washington State continues to do well recruiting the Bay Area. The Cougars landed a talented running back from the region Tuesday night. Ricky Galvin (Berkeley, Calif.) took official visits to Washington State and San Diego State before committing to the Cougars.

"I had a great visit to Washington State and felt that was the best fit for me," Galvin said. "I felt a real connection to the players, coaches and the city itself when I was in Pullman and I'm excited about how I'll be used in the offense.

"I see Coach Wulf's vision for the program and where he and the rest of the staff are taking this and I'm excited to be a part of that. I believe he can turn this thing around and I think it will be fun to say I was there when the program started to win some games again."

Galvin is having a big senior season and has rushed for 1,602 yards and 19 touchdowns while sitting out the fourth quarter in several games this year. He's playing with a lot of confidence and is hopeful of seeing the field early in Pullman.

"Early playing time is another thing I'm excited about," Galvin said. "The coaches told me I'll have a chance to come in and play early and I'm excited about that. I think I can be an every down back but I'm not sure how the coaches plan to use me.

"I know I can do a lot of different things to help the team. I can run between the tackles or go outside and I can catch the ball really well. However they plan to use me is fine, I just want to help the team win."
