Phillips is no joke for Kentucky

Here are three quick notes about Kentucky's recruiting class.

Plucking from Georgia: The Wildcats continue to recruit the state of Georgia heavily. Four of the Wildcats' 14 verbal commits from the 2010 class are from the Peach State and a fifth commit, safety Mychal Bailey from Southwest Mississippi Community College is from LaGrange originally (a place the Cats have established serious in-roads over the years).

Head coach in-waiting: There is little doubt that the head coach in-waiting plan at Kentucky has worked as far as recruiting is concerned. Perhaps one of the reasons for that is that the head coach in-waiting is Joker Phillips. He is the team's offensive coordinator (and a talented one at that). He is also one of the best recruiters in the Southeast.

The next Little: Running back Raymond Sanders (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson) has been committed to the Wildcats since the summer (he's a Phillips recruit) and his production this year has created a buzz in Atlanta. During a nationally-televised game two weeks ago against Martin Luther King and Under Armour All-American Mack Brown (Lithonia, Ga./Martin Luther), Sanders was outstanding and drew comparisons from scouts and coaches at the game to former Wildcats running back Rafael Little.
